As school budgets shrink, one of the first “extra” activities eliminated is field trips. At Kauffman Museum we know that experiences outside the classroom are crucial to learning and expanding a student’s view of the world. Schools can often afford Kauffman Museum’s $1 field trip admission fee but can’t afford transportation costs. That’s why we’ve started a new initiative to Bring Back the Buses! Any school group that arrives at the museum by bus may request reimbursement for travel expenses up to $100 per school per visit. Reimbursements are available on a first come first served basis. Contact Andi Schmidt Andres at asa@bethelks.edu or 316-283-1612 to make a reservation for your group and to reserve your reimbursement. After you’ve visited the museum, download and submit the printable Reimbursement Request Form. Proof of payment to a bus services company or written verification of mileage and driver costs from the school’s transportation office must accompany the Reimbursement Request Form. Kauffman Museum field trips are aligned with current state curricular standards. To view our field trip options, click below. |
